Lovely weekend!

Today Aaron, Jason and Jacob are moving out our clawfoot tub. He is going to refinish the inside. We figure this week is perfect because Aaron is off all week and I only work Monday and Tuesday. My parents are camping all weekend and all next week so we will have the use of their shower all week. (Above are before pics (when we picked up the tub from an old apartment complex) and after (when we had officially moved it in, nearly 2 years ago)).

I can't believe it is going to be July already. We don't plan to register until the end of July, beginning of August. I am nervous thinking about choosing items for this new little baby. These are things that will either hold the baby, protect the baby, no matter what it will be close to the baby. We already have 2 car seats from Aaron's uncle that I just can't see using until the baby is passed the infant stage. There is no handle and it would be very hard for Aaron to be able to get the baby out of his truck... especially when rear facing. I also just can't see taking my newborn out of its seat holding it and knowing there could be ice or snow on the ground. If I would happen to fall down because of the snow or ice, I don't want the baby in my arms... I want it in a carrier. So those will go upstairs until that time. Aaron and I have decided together that we would like to get a carrier type infant car seat. So we are excited to pick that out and obviously get two bases. One for me and one for Aaron. we are still not sure what Stroller. I am anxious to have "Aaron and I" go and see what one we like and feel more comfortable with.

I just can't believe that we are already 1/2 way for the baby to come and that is even if we make it to 40 weeks. This little guy might come earlier... I hope not but it is always possible. My body has changed so much. I am always pushing around and Aaron is pry tired of hearing me say "Aaron feel this"... ha ha!! It is amazing how a womens body prepares for this little one and makes room for it. This morning I have the pain again in the lower stomach... stretching again. I guess that is good because that means the baby is growing.

Last night was nice, I cleaned all day yesterday after getting off work and used my clothes line for the first time... awesome!! Started to make supper, Meatloaf, baked potato and corn on the cob. Alicia called me and asked me to eat out with her and Rachel... I wish I could have but already have supper started and I was all messy from cleaning. It was nice talking to them.. I am sure we could have stood around a lot longer, but they were hungry and I needed to tend to my own supper.

Alicia cracks me up and just would think that her students love having her as a teacher... funny, open minded, and always has another way to look at things. It was nice seeing Rachel again too, she had a little fender bender with her car and the road a week or two ago. I am just glad she is alright... I am sure it could have been a lot worse. We surely have to get together again... I told them that I would be their designated driver... ha ah!!

Well we are locked in the pc room waiting on them to move the tub out... I don't hear any cursing so I am guessing everything is going good. Jacob is growing up so fast it amazes me.

Well adios for now. Have a great 4th of July everyone!!

Goodbye Sheet, Hello Privacy!

FINALLY, we have a bathroom door. I know it sounds terrible but for 2 years now we have been dealing with a sheet as our full bath door. It took a while, but after put it in and then taking it back out, cutting, pushing and saying a few words Aaron got the door in and working!!

Aaron also made me clothes line posts. He put them up last weekend and now today he will be getting the line for them. I can't wait to put our sheets on the line, the dog bed and most of all the babys bedding and blankets.

Now we just need my Uncle Rod to come over and measure for carpet, Aaron is going to start on the bedroom doors and then front steps. Moving right along with around 20 weeks to go before the baby comes. 1/2 way there!!!

falling in the ocean...

Today I only had to work until lunch time. We had no docs in the afternoon. So I decided to go pick up the boys and take them the Deshler parks. They have 2 really nice ones and we even got Ice Cream! At the first park, they had a wooden train, wooden boat, balance beams and merry go round. The boys even tried to catch a squirrel... but it was too fast. Hunter swears he touched its tail. They asked if Uncle Aaron or if "daddy" could make them the train...I said it would take a lot of time and effort to look as nice as theirs. They had soo much fun! The second park had an old Train Car and a Plane suspended on poles. They loved the train car and I know Aaron used to be able to go inside it when a kid, but now they have it locked and all the windows are broke and kids have wrote things all over it. It is a shame. Ryley absolutely loved the plane... he wanted to go inside of it soo bad!! I said we would have to look for an Air Show sometime and go, I know they usually have old fighter planes there. Dad took me once when I was little...I think we saw the Memphis Bell. In between we got Ice Cream. Ryley got chocolate, Hunter got cookies-n-cream and I got moose tracks. Ryley kept asking me for pieces of my peanut butter candies in my ice cream. It was cute. We had soo much fun! On the way home from Deshler they fell asleep listening to their favorite song over and over again.... Blue October. They one part they know is "Swimming in the Ocean".... it is soo cute to hear Ryley humm the song and then when the corus comes on.... he knows it. Came home, came inside, relaxed watches October Sky and then BBQd Hamburgers and Hot Dogs. Then home they went. I am beat... they are sooo full of energy and I try to keep up with them the best I can. I hope they had fun and I hope to do it again with them nad my kids too.

Bloody Nose

Today I got my first bloody nose... and of course I was wearing a white top. It was close... one little drop and I got it off with a Tide Stick. I should invest in one of those.

18 week appointment

Today we had our appointment with my doctor. Everything went well... he answered all our questions and we were very happy with them all. He did touch base on the screening for down syndrome and such.... and we decided against getting tested for that. We will love this baby no matter what happens.

Today the baby's heart rate was around 147. Total I have gained 1.6 pounds which is great!! I don't want to gain too much weight. I am soo worried that I won't be able to wear my old clothes. I don't want to be a flabby mom!

He found it right away today and next month is our next ultrasound. I can't wait!! Mom and Padre are going to meet us there and then we will do supper afterwards.

I am anxious to see their reaction to our ultrasound. I know Mom went to one with Robin, but that has been 6 years ago and I am wondering if they have changed at all? I am wondering if Dad has ever seen a ultrasound for a baby? Either way we are excited to be able to share this experience with them. We'll get new pictures and I will post them immediately!!

Thursday I start my 19th week. Dr. Schutz says that after the 20th week he'll start to measure my belly to see how the baby is growing and around 24 weeks I'll have to drink that awful orange drink.... ughhhhh!!

Happy Fathers Day Padre!!

Sunday we went to Mom & Dads after supper for Ice Cream (Padre's Favorite). Of course he plays fun with the boys and loved all his gifts.

I am anxious to see my parents with our kids...

Happy Father-2-Be Day Aaron

Today we slept in!!! WOW! 9:00 am I woke up and was amazed that I slept that long. I made Aaron get up with dogs around 6 am because I did it yesterday and couldn't go back to sleep. He slept in until 9;45 or so. I made cinnamon rolls and already have supper in the crock pot. Ham and Cheesy Potatos... yummy!!

Aaron woke up to a Happy Fathers-2-Be day card. He loved it and today after supper we are going to spend some time with my dad. Aaron always makes comments on how lucky I am to have the dad I have. I agree. He is AWESOME!!

Yesterday Aaron and my dad did the Owens Car Show all day. Aaron is fried... but it sounds like they had a great time. Travis and I had our wedding to vidoe... we were there an hour longer than we should have been... but what do you do? You can have a wedding video without any dances. But it all worked out, we were out of there by 9:00 pm. We got some good footage and a lot of dancing for him to work into a great ending.

I love doing weddings with Travis... we talk about everything and it makes me feel closer to him. He has soo many great and funny things that run through that head of his. I love him!!

Well now back to getting a shower and off to Wal-Mart we go... spending more money at that place... hughhhhh

XOXO -

18 week old pictures

I am always interested in knowing what our baby is looking like right now. I was disgusted to find aborted pictures of babies...

I went to Google and typed in 18 week old fetus and got lots of pics and some were terrible to see. But the few I did find I am sharing with you. We have our next ultrasound July 16th at 4:00 pm. I have invited my mom to attend with Aaron and I. I'd like to share some of these things with her... stories I can tell my kids.

It is hard to believe that I am starting my 5th month already... half way there! In two weeks I'll be 20 weeks and that is the official half way mark!! At our next ultrasound we would be able to find out the sex of the baby, but we are deciding not to. I want this to be a surprise.
When we register I am sure we will pick out neutral colors for the car seat, strollers, play pen and bedding accessories. It will be fun... I am looking forward to us determining what some things are used for and me explaining to Aaron some of the stuff.
It has been 6 years since I've had any baby experience (twins). And it scares me sometimes and then again excites me soo much. It has been 6 years for both of our parents to have a grandkid. I know Robin is done, and Aaron's brothers are all done. It is left to me and Travis for grandkids for my parents.
Today I am having some pain in my lower abdomen. It is the ligaments stretching for the baby. I feel like I need to push in the stomach or wear really tight underwear... ha ha!! I guess it is progress that the baby is growing healthy and strong. I am just waiting on that kick!!

17 weeks, 23 weeks & 7 days to go!

Your Baby- At 4 to 5 inches long and about 7 ounces, your baby is roughly the size of a large pear. And she's ripening--the brain, muscles, nervous and circulatory systems, and urinary tract are all functioning. Amniotic fluid is pumping through her lungs. Her skeleton, composed of rubbery cartilage, will harden later. (americanbaby.com)

How your baby's growing: Your baby weighs about 5 ounces now, and he's around 5 inches long — about the size of a large onion. He can move his joints, and his skeleton — until now rubbery cartilage — is starting to harden to bone. His sense of hearing is also developing. The umbilical cord, his lifeline to the placenta, is growing stronger and thicker. (babycenter.com)

Moving right along...

1 MONTH
2 MONTHS
3 MONTHS
4 MONTHS
5 MONTHS (in 1 1/2 weeks)
I can't believe that in 1 1/2 weeks we will be 5 months pregnant. HALF way there! Holy shit!! We have so much more we need to get done. I want in our master bedroom so bad and I want to have the nursery painted and just waiting for the furniture. I want a bathroom door, front steps and a clothes line. Do you think I'll ever get these things? In all actuality, we really only have 3 maybe 4 months to get stuff done. In September we go to Gatlinburg for a week and what kind of condition will I be to help come middle of October into November? I have no idea, and I know everyone is different. We will hopefully be registering soon. Maybe you can help get Aaron motivated to work on some stuff?

Your Body - If this is your first pregnancy, you're probably "popping out" right around now (subsequent pregnancies tend to show earlier). Your uterus, which will expand to 1,000 times its normal size by the time you deliver--one doctor describes it as turning "from a nectarine into a basketball"--is entering a growth spurt. And speaking of growth, you're probably gaining weight at the rate of about a pound a week. Somewhere between the 16th and 20th week, you'll feel something that you've been expecting but still can't quite believe: your baby's kicks. They won't be solid football kicks (that comes later); you may mistake them for stomach rumblings or even indigestion. Moms-to-be describe the feeling as "fluttery," like "butterflies" or "angel's wings." Technically, it's known as quickening. Each baby's kicking pattern (like the rest of her) is unique. Some kick almost incessantly, while others offer a gentle tap now and then, as if to say, "Don't worry, I'm here!"
