Ring the Alarm!

Aaron was voted into the Leipsic Fire Department last night. He was excited. Our friend Brian helped Aaron get it and called last night with the good news. I am happy for him! I know our kids will be honored to say that their daddy is a fireman!

I think Aaron will enjoy the guys on the squad and will be willing to help when needed. He has some training and such to go through, but I am hoping he enjoys the entire experience.

The Bug is Back!

My dad and I built this car when I was 13. And finished it just after I turned 16. Sanding, tearing apart, putting together, tearing apart again, painting it and then the pinstriping. Made it mine!!

10 inch rear tires!!

Personalized with my name above the driver side door.

Check out this purple metalflake....AWESOME!

My Padre has been busy getting my bug up and running again. After purchasing a different motor for it in 2003 and not driving it since 2000 when I graduated from High School, it needed some tlc. The turn signals, brakes, and more. You can always count on my Padre to fix it! Tonight Aaron and I finished waxing it and cleaning up the inside. Aaron has been great in letting me purchase new bumper, exhaust, re-newing my personalized plates, and getting insurance on it again. We pry will have around $350 or $400 in it when all done. But I can say that it is worth it!! I love this car and will never sell it. Before getting pregnant I told Aaron that if I were to pass away it was going to go to Ryley my god son. But now with a baby on the way I hope they love it as much as I do

Boys' first day of school...

Read my sister's blog about the boy's first day... if like me you'd be crying too. She explained it perfectly and it just amazes me how they are in school already...........guhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Boy or Girl?

These charts makes us laugh.. becuase we were fertile the last 2 days in February and the first day in March... the chart we used to keep on our fridge had Blue for February and Pink for March. This chart is different as they all are. I thought I would post it, those of you with kids you can check to see if this accurate? Let me know :)

We always say that one day all the signs point to a boy, the next day a girl... and so on and so on. We can't wait to mee this new little one.

Carpet Shopping Day 1

1 room down, and 1 to go! Today we purchased 1 remnant for the computer room. We are going to have to purchase carpet for the family room off of the roll. With the dimensions we were unable to get a remnant for that room. We did find a good price on some of the shag like carpet at Laugers and plan to most likely go back and purchase it. Maybe next weekend before Jay Newell's wedding reception.

We also purchased our paint for the babies room. I was nervous picking out the color but I am so excited to start getting it put together!

This weekend we have Chuck's pug, Ozzy. He is a good dog and follows me around everywhere. Pheobe and Fisher get jealous fast and boy do they not like me or Aaron giving him lovin'. I guess something they'll have to get used to for when the baby comes.

We went through Once Upon a Child in Findlay and did buy another car seat cover. I looked around and didn't see anything else that jumped out at me. I did see a couple of swings for daycare, but did make any decisions yet.

Aaron is at the football game and I am home with 3 dogs. Just ate mac & cheese and pry goin to put in a movie that Chuck gave us to watch. He did give us one love story... that will pry be the winner.

Next weekend I have my sugar test on Friday, Car Show and Jay Newell's reception on Saturday and the car parade on Sunday. I am hoping that we get insurance on my bug before then... waiting patietnly.

The following weekend is my baby shower already... I can't believe it. Saturday is a class mates of mine wedding, Travis and I are videotaping. Aaron and I weren't invited so I am sure home right aftewards to bug my husband and get rest for the shower the next day! I can't wait!!!

Well off to that love story... good night and sleep tight!!

xoxox - Kelly, Fisher, Pheobe & Ozzy ..........and baby Gus :)

cafemom.com

My new addiction is http://www.cafemom.com/. They have group discussions and great info from other moms all around the world.

They have discussions from breastfeeding, names, play groups, day care, and more. I can't wait to get more involved in what they talk about!! I highly recommend it for those of you expecting or with children that have that famous question "what does everyone else do, say, or use?".

For first time moms...

Flooded In!

Today I am home, flooded in, literally. It keeps raining here and doesn't look like it is going to stop. Our yard looks like a pond and Ottawa, Columbus Grove, Pandora & Ottoville are all under water.

After getting ready for work, Aaron tells me he'd rather me stay home, and that is not like him... so I call my office manager and told him unless he absolutely needed me I would rather not chance it. Another co-worker called and re-asured me that my decision was good... water everywhere in Findlay.

My brother left the jail at 7 am and tried to go back to his apt. in Findlay and had to turn around, he couldn't find one way to get into Findlay. He said it is terrible. He also told me that if on the roadways they will either give you a ticket or arrest you. Since working for the jail/sherriff... he knows these things.
Ottawa is under a Level 3 as is Findlay. Looks like I'll have a spot less house today!

Aaron has no way of getting Lima, he is home today too. Unless going through Ft. Wayne, he is stuck as well.

More rain on its way and it is only going to get worse before it gets better.

BE READY TO MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR A WARNING IS ISSUED. STAY TUNED TO WEATHER RADIO OR OTHER RADIO AND TV STATIONS FOR FURTHER UPDATES. "

FINDLAY -- The flooding could get worse before it gets better in Findlay. The Blanchard River rose several more inches overnight, and is not expected to crest until sometime Wednesday morning. Findlay Mayor Tony Iriti has declared a state of emergency for his city.
A storm system dropped as much as 9 inches of rain on northwest Ohio on Monday. By Tuesday morning, water started inching up in counties south of Toledo. Hancock County was one of the hardest-hit, with widespread flooding in Findlay and other cities to the south.
The National Weather Service predicts the river will crest sometime Wednesday at 17.01 feet (or 775.11 feet above sea level). If that was the case, this flood would be comparable to the 1981 flood, which was considered a 100-year flood. The river crested in 1981 at 17.43 feet. Thirteen feet is considered "major flood stage."

Video from Findlay's main downtown area on Wednesday morning shows widespread flooding. Police say there's as much as 5 feet of water covering most streets in downtown for the three blocks either side of the Blanchard River. We're told there are no river crossings available in Findlay. The only way to get across the river is by Interstate 75.
Findlay's state of emergency means the only emergency vehicles should be on the road, and other people out driving on the flooded roads could be ticketed.
Firefighters and water rescue teams have been working all night to pluck people from their flooded homes. Some people are sandbagging, trying to keep the water out of their homes and businesses. "You can't do nothing with Mother Nature," said Michael Evanoff, a business owner. "I said, 'Open the door, and let it run through,' and hope it doesn't do a lot of damage."
Flood waters have filled Evanoff's shop three times in the past year. "We just start putting up. We make sure everything's about waist-high, and hope it doesn't get any deeper than that."
The flooding has caused some closures in the Findlay area:
Marathon Findlay office complex is closed Wednesday, and the company says employees should not report to work.

In-service and training has been canceled on Wednesday for Findlay City Schools. Employees with Findlay Schools should not come to work unless you are contacted directly.
Owens Community College Findlay Campus is closed Wednesday.
The Conine family is trying to pump the water out of their Findlay home. It was scary for Bill Conine because at one point, the water from a nearby pond was rushing from basement windows, and filling up the home.

With furniture floating, the family grabbed everything they could, and tried to start bailing with buckets. It was a losing battle. "You reach a point where you feel absolutely helpless because the water is coming in so fast that it's overwhelming," said Bill Conine. "By the time the water was basically up to my neck, we said, 'That's enough, it's time to get out.'"

The Hancock County chapter of the American Red Cross has set up two shelters:
St. Andrew's United Methodist Church120 W. Sandusky St.Findlay
Arlington High School336 S. Main St.Arlington
Count on News 11 to follow this story as it develops.

27 weeks

My Baby - It's the last week of your second trimester, and you know what that means: Just a few short months until your baby's really here! This week your baby will grow half an inch (she's now about 9.5 inches from crown to rump). She currently weighs a little over 2 pounds -- and is set to gain almost a half-pound each week for the next 10 weeks. (Yep, that means you'll continue to gain weight, too. In fact, pregnant women pack on more pounds in the third trimester than in any other). At birth, the average full-term baby tips the scales at 7.5 pounds and measures between 18 and 22 inches, although many completely healthy babies fall outside of this range. And here's another fun factoid: Although your baby has started to recognize your voice, it's hard for her to hear it clearly because her ears are covered with that gooey, protective coating of vernix. Between that and the amniotic fluid, your baby's eavesdropping ability is akin to how well you hear under water.

My Body - By now, you're putting on about a pound each week, although this does vary, so don't be alarmed if your scale-tipping differs from week to week. Your uterus has now expanded all the way up to the lower part of your ribcage, so you're probably rocking that adorable all-belly look. In fact, the only thing shrinking right now may be your libido -- so it's totally A-OK if your cravings for french fries trump your desire to do the deed. Many preggo women report that their libidos are all over the map throughout these nine months. But especially now, a growing belly may translate to feeling more tired and achy, so sex may become less and less desirable as your pregnancy drags on.

All lit up

Here they are all lit up! It was really neat!

Balloon Fest - August 18th

Saturday the family went to the Balloon Fest at Emory Adams Park. Mom, Dad, Chris, Robin, Ryley, Hunter, Aaron and I! We took two vehicles from mom and dad's campsite in Van Buren and then headed on over. Traffic was terrible. The park was packed and the balloons were every where! Here they are getting ready to go up!

The night was perfect... not too cold and not hot at all! Jeans and a t-shirt and a jacket for warmth when the sun went down. Aftewards we went back to the campsite for a fire and good ole conversation. Travis had to work or I am sure he would have been there with us. He turns 24 on the 30th of August... still debaiting on what to get him.

Welcome!

Lillian Charlotte
Born to Melissa & Brad
8/15/07
8:23 pm
6 lb 8 oz - 20 1/2 inches long
I've been checking the babynet almost everyday since Wednesday. My friend Melissa was thinking she'd be induced that day and I've been going crazy not knowing what she had. They thought a girl, but wasn't 100% sure... so I now have the opportunity to go buy a darling little girl outfit for her and the baby!! Congrats Melissa... I am soo happy for you and Brad!

Day Care is Booked!

Wednesday night we finalized our daycare for after the baby is born and I go back to work. It is going to work out great, I drive past her house everyday on the way to work and home, and she is willing to keep the baby to 5 pm, allowing me to work 7:30-4:30. I know there will be some days that I'll need to use grandmas to pick up if I am running late.

I wanted to stay in Leipsic, for that reason and not have to go to Findlay for day care. Prices are so much higher in Findlay and I really don't want to have to drive to Findlay with bad weather with the baby in the car. This way I drive 15 minutes to Melissa's house, drop off and then only have a 1/2 hour left on my drive. I am so excited to have found someone we like and got the location that works great with my working in Findlay.

26 week appt

Yesterday was our 26 wk appt. Everything went great, I love Dr. Schutz!
--
Baby Gus' heartbeat was at 156. Strong as ever! I am measuring up to date and have only gained 9 lbs now!
--
Our next ultrasond will be around week 34-36 to get an estimate on the babies weight and position for delivery!
--
I was telling the Dr. that if we were to deliver in Gatlinburg we could have the baby in the Dolly Parton Maternity Wing... ah a!! I told him that maybe all the nurses have fake boobs! He laughed.
--
I also asked about what if we are on our way to Bluffton to deliver and he is in Findlay delivering... what happens. He said that he has always delivered his babies. That he will go to who ever is farthest along in delivery and be there. If push came to shove he could ask a either Dr. Brown or Dr. Degani to deliver. I told him that I would rather have Dr. Degani, I have not heard good things about Dr. Brown. He was fine with that. But I am hoping that we have Dr. Schutz!!
--
His nurse also told us that he might have me scheduled in Bluffton, because he see's patient's there Friday mornings and sometimes schedules inductions for that afternoon since he is already there. I would rather go on my own, but what is best for the baby!! I am also hoping for the 23rd of November if they would schedule... that way I can have pumplin pie at home :)
--
I now have to do that lovely sugar drink on August 31st... yummy!

Going home in style

Heath or Olivia - who will it be?
Baby Heath's Outfit

Baby Olivia's Outfit

Here are the 2 outfits I bought for the baby to come home from the hospital in. These will also be their hospital pic outfits. Aaron gave me the okay and I love them!! Simple but also let ppl know if it is Olivia or Heath. I can't wait!! My shower is like 5 weeks away, I am so excited to get all these cute things for the baby. I love all the little bows, bags and cute cards they have now. I am excited to get these new things for the baby to use and for us to learn how to put together and use as well. When registering we were dumb founded on a few things, but I think over time we will be the new pros. ha ha!!
I told Aaron that after the shower we'll have to see what is left and what we'll absolutely need and go get it. I love experiencing these things with him, not many first time moms can say that their husband was this involved in the planning and preparing like Aaron has been. He has been my rock, my best friend, and most of all he is the father of my unborn child. He has stuck behind every decision I've made and I know that we have a lot more to make as parents and I couldn't ask for a better partner to do it with!! I love you BEEFCAKE!!

Here I am... 26 weeks prego

Well here I am... looking at these pics I think I look like a whale...and full term. I have 13 weeks to go yet!! I am anxious to see what I weigh tomorrow. So far I've only gained 4.6 lbs, that was last month! I am not happy about the naked belly pic, but it is the truth, things always look different under clothes, so here it is, my ugly stretched marked belly! When I sneeze my belly button pushes out, kinda gross... but Aaron always wants to see it. Tomorrow is our next appt and I can't wait to hear the heart pitter patter!! Then we have our first birthing class. 1 of 3! Enjoy!

Blue 42, Blue 42... HIKE!

Sunday the boys came out to our place and played some football with Uncle Aaron. They were hot and drank lots of Kool-aid!! Then they helped Uncle clean up his shop.
